Relocating to a new country can be a stressful, confusing experience for employees and their families. Finding the right accommodation, schools and other facilities can have a major impact on the success of a relocation.

Choosing one of our members ensures that the relocation is carried out by experienced professionals.

Who we Are

The Association of Belgian Relocation Agents (ABRA) is a non-profit organization established in 2001 to uphold the highest standards of quality and professionalism in the Belgian relocation industry.

Our relocation members have been thoroughly screened by EuRA and must adhere to the EuRA Rules of Conduct. Many of our members have also obtained the EuRA Quality Seal, which means that they have been audited for excellence in service provision and process management.

What We Do

Our association has made great strides in raising the profile of ABRA and its members both in Belgium and internationally. In addition, we actively work to support our members by identifying  problems and providing solutions to issues that confront those in the relocation industry.

Past and present initiatives include representing members regarding legal formalities at City Halls, highlighting problems relating to health insurance for expats, promoting better relations between our members and the BIV/IPI, seeking solutions to insurance for relocation companies, and providing professional advice on VAT issues.

How We Do It

ABRA is funded by membership fees and advertisements in the ReLocate newsletter. Meetings are hosted by Affiliate Members.

Leadership is provided by the Board of ABRA, which consists of the President and three Board Members, all elected from companies who are Full Members. The President is responsible for representing ABRA and for external relations and press contacts. The Board Members head committees that deal with relocation issues, membership and events. A Local Member and two Affiliate Members also take part in Board Meetings, work on committees and act as advisors to the Board.

Our members benefit from:

Support on relocation issues - The ABRA Board is very active in addressing problems affecting the relocation industry. Members can contact the Board for advice and support regarding problems encountered by relocation professionals.

Four meetings each year - The meetings normally feature a guest speaker or panel that address important issues related to relocation. The meetings are hosted by Affiliate Members and are followed by a reception that provides an excellent opportunity to meet other relocation members and relocation service providers.

A Listing on the ABRA website - All ABRA members are listed on the Our Members page of the website and also in the Members Directory which includes a short description of their organization. Anyone looking for relocation or supporting services can quickly find companies and organizations with the highest standards of quality and professionalism.

The ReLocate newsletter - Published four times a year, the newsletter contains articles and interviews relevant to relocation and associated industries. In addition, members can announce special events and promotions in the News from Our Members section.
